The High Point Tour is a tour that brings you to the highest point in Michigan, located in the rugged Huron Mountains, at one point some of the tallest in the world. You'll see many scenic waterfalls along the way. Another highlight of the tour is the historic railroad "Rock Cut" in which construction began in 1890 for a 2 million dollar railroad through the Huron Mountains. Also on tap is the historic Arvon Slate Quarry, where slate was mined from 1870 to 1892. BONUS: During berry season mid July to early August we sometimes pick berries along the way.

Hi, I am Yooper Steve, I know how to get around the entire Upper Peninsula of Michigan better than anyone. I grew up in Marquette and moved to the Copper Country during high school. Since childhood I have explored the forests and waters of the Upper Peninsula. I enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, teaching survival skills, cross county skiing, snowshoeing, and off road adventuring. My Top 3 areas to explore and relax are the Keweenaw peninsula, Porcupine Mtns, and the Huron Mountains. I like many other places in the U.P. but these areas have many adventures with less crowds for extreme solitude.
